Welcome to the Irvington Police Departments Youth Bureau

Sergeant Michael Foley is the Village of Irvington's Youth Officer and has served in this
position for the past five years. Sgt.  Foley's responsibilities include, helping to plan and put
into operation programs designed for the prevention of juvenile delinquency. To oversee the
inspection of places frequented by juveniles.

Investigate or cause to be investigated all cases of juveniles accused of violations and all
neglected children coming to the attention of the police department and take appropriate
action in the best interest of the juvenile and the community in each of these cases. Maintain a
file of juvenile arrests or contacts in member’s office.

Refer any case to the Family Court or to another agency as required by the New York State
Family Court Act. Cooperate with other members of the department and other agencies in the
prevention of juvenile delinquency. Furthermore, Sgt. Foley is a certified D.A.R.E Officer and
instructs the
D.A.R.E. Program in our local schools.
